The Boatel at Marina 59

Source: Marina 59 - Boatel
Looking to add a little more boat time to your vacation?  Book a stay with the Boatel in New York City’s Jamaica Bay.  The Boatel is part art installation part hotel on water.  Twenty three artists from New York and beyond had collected more flotsam from the bay than they knew what to do with so they turned it all into a boat hotel - a Boatel.  The artist transformed 16 old hulls into what they call “all summer art camping on boats.”  The Boatel is open Wednesday to Sunday May 16th to November 1st; come adventure ready.  Here is my favorite description of one of the vessels available, the Sweet Annisa [a 25ft Carver}:

She’s f'n sweet—Really. Not huge but she's by far the sexiest boat in the fleet, owned formerly by the best kind of West Indian drug lords. All cherry red vinyl seating and ceiling (yes, ceiling). You’re gonna want to keep her but you can’t. I do. I've checked everywhere on that thing and haven't found it yet but there's got to be drugs stashed on it somewhere.  This boat comes with electricity.”
