EPA Approves E15 Applications Today

Today the EPA announced approval of the first applications of E15.  The 15 percent ethanol gasoline mixture was approved despite resistance from the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute, the Science Committee in the House of Representatives, and the NMMA.  E15 has even met some resistance from the auto industry as it has the potential to cause fuel system and engine damage.  The Obama Administration has set a goal to help fueling station owners install 10,000 blender pumps over the next 5 years to encourage the use of E15.  It would seem the marine industry may have a significant challenge on the horizon.
