Have You Been Thinking of Buying an EPIRB?

Source: Survitec Survival Products
We’ve all had those moments when we become hyperaware that our situation has the potential, or has begun, to go very wrong.  If you haven’t prepared beforehand, by the time you have that feeling you are too late.  If you have been thinking of purchasing an EPIRB system, chances are you have already thought about those emergency situations.  If you don’t know what an EPIRB is, it is an Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon; it emits a locating signal either by manual or automatic activation if you fall overboard.

If you’ve been waiting for a deal on an EPIRB, you have just run out of excuses.  Kannad Marine is offering a $75 rebate on its SafeLink EPIRB.  There are two ultra compact and “stylish” models (manual and automatic activation) to choose from.  Check out the Survitec website (Kannad’s US distributor) for more details on the rebate.

  1. Good point! From what I can tell the rebate saves you about 10% of the cost.

  3. True words! Not sure why I don't already own one - maybe if I went out on boats the went outside swimming range of land I would.
