The Atlantic Ocean can be a cruel mistress; she giveth, she taketh away, and then apparently giveth back again. In rough seas, during a fishing trip, two men were knocked off their 26ft Regulator center console and into the waters off the coast of Nantucket, Mass. The only other item to exit the vessel was a rescue bag with a PFD. The two men swam to shore as they watched the boat drift away. That was back in August of 2008. Now, 1,241 days and 3,500 nautical miles later, the vessel has reappeared off the coast of Spain. The Coast Guard reported the unlikely trans-Atlantic voyage to the vessels owner yesterday. The owner said he has no desire to be reunited with his boat.
