Silver Arrows Marine Granturismo Completes First Sea Trials

Source: Silver Arrows Marine
Thank goodness the Mayan’s were wrong about the end of the world; I’d hate to miss out on the eventual release of the Silver Arrows Marine (SAM) Granturismo.  With the yacht’s hull beginning to take shape, the first sea trials were completed with the test mule you see above.

True to the legendary racing heritage of its namesake, the hull was tested on a marked offshore “racing circuit” and data was collected using formula one racing telemetry equipment.  That is reassuring after looking at the extremely unique hull shape of the Granturismo.  While I’m a little disappointed that this first boat from SAM is more of a “grand tourer” type luxury yacht, I look forward to what this company’s future may hold.  Maybe they can use the funding from the Granturismo sales to produce a racing yacht worthy of the “Silver Arrow” name.

How do you feel about Silver Arrows Marine’s debut yacht, worthy of the name?

Here she comes.

A closer look.

The hull shape is reminiscent of an air craft carrier.

Look how blue that water is.
