You know the saying, “They don’t make them like they used to.” It’s not always true. Sometimes they make them just like they used to; built by hand, built to last. Click past the jump to watch how functional art is made in the form of a canoe. And then check out the Gull Lake Boat Works site to see more examples of their beautiful water crafts.
It's a beauty, hey! Mark does some beautiful work and is a true craftsman. I can tell by his description of seeing every imperfection in every canoe he makes... I have known many artists and craftsman with the same affliction but to most people the work is flawless. I will have to put "visit Mark at Gull Lake Boat Works" on my bucket list.
