The Price You’ll Pay for Your Boat May be Determined by the Current Month w/video

My wife and I have recently been going through some of Dave Ramsey materials in an effort to sharpen the family finances.  Like Dave says, “A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.”  If you are thinking about purchasing your first boat, would like to upgrade, or purchase an additional boat you’d be crazy to not do some research and make a plan for that purchase.  What if I told you that the month of the year could have a significant impact on the price you pay for that boat?  To steal another Dave quote, “That stupid saying "What you don't know can't hurt you" is ridiculous. What you don't know can kill you. If you don't know that tractor trailer trucks hurt when hitting you, then you can play in the middle of the interstate with no fear - but that doesn't mean you won't get killed.”
Check out the video after the jump from Manheim Specialty Auctions to review monthly pricing trends from the last 3 years.  You could save quite a bit, or even make a larger purchase than you expected if you time it right.  Have you been doing any research on your next boat?  Let us know what you would like first/next boat to be in the comment section.

  1. I would love a little bit smaller boat that would be good for the river and most of a flats lagoon but would like to be able to take it outside on a calm day. I am thinking more of the Florida Bay for "outside", maybe not so much out to the Gulf Steam. Something towable without costing an arm and a leg in fuel to transport and run. Anyone have any suggestions?
