No one was hurt, but 15 luxury boats were destroyed in a fire at a
Seneca, Illinois marina this morning. Fire marshals investigated a large
“suspicious” fire at the Spring Brook Marina earlier today. They declared the
fire suspicious as the destroyed vessels have been in storage since October. As
you can see from the video below, the only evidence of a boat’s location is the
pile of ashes and a blackened bow rail. The fire was reported at 1:15am and
blazed for more than 6 hours before the flames were quenched. The estimated
damage was upwards of $1million.
I wonder the likelihood any of those who lost their vessel in the fire would buy from and continue to dry-dock at the same marina?
