For some, being stuck on a boat for weeks at a time while dragging a sonar device to map the ocean floor sounds like absolute torture.  Then again, sometimes great art is born out of much suffering.  Take a look at the bathymetric chart above, imagine the sheer amount of time it took to not only collect the chart data but then to create and assemble each contoured layer.  Truly a work of art any boatie could appreciate.
