Ever Had Your Own Boat Pass You on the Highway? w/video

For some, especially new boaties, trailering a boat can be one of the more intimidating aspects of boating. For most of you seasoned pros out there, trailering is just part of your routine getting out on the water. Regardless of your ability, if you’re human, you’ve made a few mistakes during the trailering process. I can remember heading out for a day on the water with my wife, when, just before we crossed over some train tracks I recalled that I hadn’t latched the coupler onto the hitch ball. I slowed down as much as possible but the coupler still bounced off the ball. Thankfully the safety chains were attached and crossed below the tongue. The tongue came to rest on the chains and everyone and everything survived without a scratch.
Chances are, at some point, you have backed your bumper or tailgate into the trailer tongue or had to re-align backing down the ramp several times. Your human, mistakes happen; besides, there aren’t many mistakes that can’t be fixed by a day out on the water. Check out how a promising day of boating was almost ruined by a “simple” trailering mistake after the jump break. And share your trailering mistakes with the rest of us in the comments.
