You Don’t Need to Skip High School to go Fishing Anymore

Apparently I was born a few years too soon as bass fishing is now a
sanctioned High School sport in two states.
Kentucky recently joined Illinois as the second state to officially endorse
the sport. The current format has two
student anglers team up with an adult boat captain. The total weight is determined by combining the
best five fish for each team member. The
highest total weight determines the winning team. I could think of nothing better for boating
than to instill a passion in these young anglers to be on the water doing what
they do best, catching bass. Here’s to
hoping more states ratify the addition of Bass Fishing to their list of
approved high school sports (get with it Florida).

Now you can letter in Fishing and be called a jock for wearing camo! Someone needs to write a new country song...
ReplyDeleteHaha, I'd like to see a Mossy Oak letterman jacket. It might be interesting to see how many athletes would be willing to move to fishing from their current sports.
